George Boys (September 22, 1930 – March 4, 2014) was a renowned South African abstract painter known for his vibrant and energetic canvases. Influenced by Wassily Kandinsky and Japanese calligraphy, Boys developed a unique style characterized by bold colors and expressive forms. He gained recognition in the 1960s, exhibiting his work both locally and internationally, including representing South Africa at the São Paulo Biennale in 1965. Boys’ paintings are held in numerous public and private collections, solidifying his legacy as a significant figure in South African art history.
