Louis Jansen Van VuurenCollection
Louis Jansen Van Vuuren (b.1949)
Born in Middleburg, Mpumalanga, the youngest of four children, to Dutch and French immigrants, it was from an early age that Louis acknowledged that he would one day become an artist. At age 17 he held his first exhibition in his home town, and it was from there that his career in painting blossomed. He studied art and design at Stellenbosch University and went on to teach at the University of Cape Town. He lives partly between his chateau in France and a base Cape Town, exhibiting throughout the world. A large influencer and personality on the art scene, Louis also plays a vital role in encouraging emerging artist as teacher and mentor.
We can also assist in sourcing, picture framing, hanging, restoration, valuation and resale of art works, as well as curate spaces and oversee collections.
