Born in Johannesburg, Mullins studied fine art under Walter Wiles and Nils Anderson at the Johannesburg School of Art. Traditional in style, she began in a colonial manner studying native life. She married into the Wiles family and continued in the family style and depictions of the Eastern Cape, A competent landscape artist, she also pursued her passion for portraiture throughout her career. She is prominent in numerous collections in South Africa and is an award winning artist.
