Velile Soha is a South African artist who was born in Cape Town in 1957. He is known for his realistic prints, paintings, and murals that depict the lives of working-class people in South Africa. Soha’s work often focuses on the challenges faced by people living in townships, such as poverty, unemployment, and violence. However, his work also celebrates the resilience and strength of these communities. Soha studied at Rorke’s Drift Art School in KwaZulu-Natal from 1981 to 1983. After graduating, he worked as a printmaker at the Nyanga Art Centre and Community Art Project in Cape Town
